There’s only one pie

There is only one pie” - Jana Kass, MBA, MSN, RN, RN-BC, ca. 2025

I rely on my wise better half to remind us not to bite off more than we can chew.

Here’s our typical “day in the life” during the work week – a household with two working parents, two young boys (4 and 1), and 2 dogs:

Think about every 24 hours as your pie:

🍕 Sleep (6-7 hours) if we’re lucky!
🍕 Work (10-11 hours, including commute, sometimes more)
🍕 Parenting – dressing, diapering, feeding, reading, quality time, baths, bedtime (2-3 hours)
🍕 Home tasks – laundry, dishes, walking and feeding dogs (1-2 hours)
🍕 Exercise – 30-45 minutes

This is our pie - sound familiar?

Where is the time for social outings, hobbies, or relaxing?

There is none … unless you have a strategy to win some back.

💪 Are there small tradeoffs of time that you can live with?
💪 Is there anything you can automate?
💪 Are there things you can reasonably put off or delegate?

Every little bit helps!

Wishing all of our friends and family a happy and healthy holiday season!

♻️ How do you preserve time for what energizes you?
