The Hannukah Miracle

Hannukah, the Festival of Lights, is a reminder that small things can make a big difference.

We are fortunate to be able to carry on these traditions with our family and friends, as well as our young kids, especially in the face of truly awful recent events in Australia.

The story of the Hannukah miracle resonates for leaders and parents of young kids alike.

The situation:
🕎 One small group of Maccabees
🕎 One day’s worth of oil
🕎 Eight nights to cover

No backup supply. No contingency plan. No meeting to discuss options.

They had faith, and they lit it anyway.

Somehow, the oil stretched for eight nights—long enough to regroup and rebuild.

Jana and I eat a mostly clean, healthy diet … but our tradition is to eat foods fried in oil on Hannukah. A good reminder that we can all splurge every now and then! We highly recommend latkes (potato pancakes) if you haven't tried them!

Wishing those who celebrate a joyful, meaningful, and slightly greasy Hanukkah. 🕯️
