Better together.

True life – Jana and I were preparing our bios for an upcoming speaking engagement and the version I sent to the organizer included the following:

Dad. Leader. Mentor. Friend. Athlete. Uncle. Brother. Son.

What’s missing?

As working parents, here’s what rises to the top of our day-to-day priority list:
📋  Keeping our kids safe, healthy, fed, educated, and entertained
📋  Excelling at work
📋  Keeping in shape
📋 Friends and family

Again, what’s missing?

Amid the hustle of the Modern Parent Juggle, it’s easy for your relationship to take a backseat for any number of reasons:
⌛  “Next month when things slow down”
⌛  “We haven’t seen ____ in a while”
⌛ “I have to submit this by Friday at noon”

For one night, we put the noise aside and enjoyed each other.

We celebrated our anniversary at the beautiful Beaumont Inn, one of our favorite restaurants. Just us, like the old times. We laughed, had a great time, and told ourselves we should do it more often.

Why Better Together? We danced to it at our wedding, November 7, 2015. 10 years ago this month. We smile and reminisce every time it comes on our playlists.

Thanks, Jack Johnson for making a special memory for us, and thanks Amanda Cresswell MSN, BSN, RN for the inspiration.
