A Time for Reflection
What are you looking forward to in the next year?
Tomorrow is Rosh Hashanah, the celebration of the Jewish New Year and one of our high holy days, along with Yom Kippur.
During Rosh Hashanah, we pray for a year of health and peace, and reflect on the year that was and the year that will be.
It’s a time for introspection and celebration. Importantly, it’s also a time for passing down tradition to our children (Brooks, 4 and Hudson, 1). Amid the busyness of everyday life as working parents, Jana and I are making as much space as we can for our kids to enjoy the traditions we loved as kids. Holiday gatherings with family were some of our favorite times!
One of our traditions is enjoying apples and honey for a sweet and healthy New Year. Thanks to Braces Orchard (Dallas, PA) and Mad Tom Orchard (East Dorset, VT), we are stocked with delicious apples!
Jana and I will be signing off tomorrow and enjoying a quiet day as a family. Whatever you believe, we can all hope for more peace and sweetness in the world.
Shana Tova (“good year”), all!
What are the traditions you hold dear in your family? Feel free to share - it does not have to be religious or spiritual!
